South Korea’s National Assembly President Invites Cambodian Counterpart for Official Visit

PHNOM PENH: President of South Korea’s National Assembly, Kim Jin-pyo, noted the steady growth of Cambodia-Korea relations in both diplomacy and trade, with Korean investment in Cambodia increasing significantly in the agricultural and automobile industries.

in a meeting with Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sodary on the morning of September 7, Kim Jin-pyo congratulated Cambodia on its new administration and reforming the National Assembly, with Khuon Sodary as the first woman to hold her position.

He stressed that South Korea’s National Assembly is always ready to strengthen the ties between the two countries' governments. In that spirit, he extended an invitation to Kuon Sodary to lead a high-level delegation to South Korea in the near future, which she accepted.

South Korea has played an important role in contributing to peace and development in Cambodia through the provision of grants and concessional loans, especially in the field of infrastructure construction, institutional strengthening and human resource development. In 2022, Korea provided $150 million in development assistance in its largest grant yet.
